Gospel Seminar (Nov 21, 2025)
Today, we had our very first gospel seminar in Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus. It was a well awaited time for all of us and also for our gospel friends. Our fellow students and our invited friends alike can be seen waiting around the lecture theatre as early as 45 minutes before the seminar. Students from nearby universities also came to attend this seminar.
Right at the beginning of the seminar, we were all met with a question, “Is there something more to life than studying, working and achieving?” We all have to admit that, at one time or another, we have asked ourselves, “What is the meaning of my human life? What is the purpose of my life?” This seminar brought us to explore what the Bible says concerning the mystery of our human life.
God created man in His image (Gen. 1:26a) so that man may contain Him. Furthermore, God created man with a spirit, soul, and body (1 Thes. 5:23). Our body needs food, rest, and proper care. However, even with good food and clothing, many times we still feel unsatisfied; this is the reason why man seek for entertainment to satisfy the soul. We may dress well and eat well, having many wonderful friends and great success in the world, yet deep within us, the sense of emptiness still persists. That is because man’s spirit is not satisfied.
God went through incarnation, human living, crucifixion, death and resurrection, to become the life-giving Spirit (1 Cor. 15:45b). After He ascended to the Father, He became ready to be received by man. As long as we believe in our heart and confess with our mouth Jesus as Lord, we shall be saved (Rom. 10:9). He who believes and is baptized shall be saved (Mark 16:16). It is only when God comes into us that we can be truly satisfied. What a blessing it is to find the meaning of our human life today!
