Klang Valley Campus Blending Trip to Thailand (Feb 25–Mar 3, 2025)
“This trip was really an eye-opening experience to me. I never thought that the Body of Christ could be so real and so experiential to me.” These were the words of one campus students who participated in the trip.
Another student shared, “During this trip, I was exposed to see that I can no longer remain a spiritual infant. For the sake of the Body, I need to grow in life, learn to deny myself and lose my soul life to coordinate with others”
A third student reflected, “I am a person who do not like to trouble others, and I do not like others to trouble me. But the Lord exposed my individualism. I was enlighten to see that that in the Body, there is no individualism, only mutual care and mutual shepherding of one another.”
We deeply thank the Lord for His sovereign mercy in placing us in this age, which is the age of the Body. The Body of Christ is not merely a doctrine or philosophy. Today the Body of Christ is real, subjective and experiential!
From February 25 through March 3, 2025, a total of 21 saints (5 serving ones and 16 students) embarked on 7-day blending trip to Bangkok, Thailand.
We were not going for a vacation but a purposeful trip. Before we depart, we had a preparatory fellowship where the serving brothers shared with us the burden of this blending trip, which was to uplift our seeing and experience of the Body of Christ.
In this trip we visited a few universities including Chulalongkorn University, Thammasat University, Kasetsart University, Mahidol University, Bangkok Thonburi University, Assumption University (ABAC). In the first two days we coordinate with the trainees in the Full-Time Training in Bangkok (FTTB) to preach the gospel in their respective campuses. Despite having a language barrier, we had a wonderful experience of coordination with the trainees. We mainly initiated the conversation with the university students, and the trainees continued preaching in Thai. As they shared, we supported them by saying “Amen!” There are no spare parts in the Body of Christ, all members functioning and coordinating harmoniously.
We are also greatly encouraged by the trainees’ aggressive spirit in preaching the gospel. Outwardly, they reminded us to “watch out” for the security guards, but when they were contacting the students they were fill with the Spirit that nothing seemed to hinder them from rescuing souls. In such a vital coordination, we were also stirred up by them. Eventually, we obtained a number of open contacts and some some of them prayed to receive the Lord! Hallelujah!
Another highlight of this trip is the group meetings and the blending with the saints in different districts in the church in Bangkok and also with the church in Salaya and the church in Bang Sao Thong. We gained so much from just a small and simple gathering. At one time, we had saints from China, Taiwan, Myanmar, America, Germany, Thailand and Malaysia, all under one roof! The riches in the Body just flowed forth when the saints shared on how the Lord preserved them and shepherded them in the brothers’ and sister’s houses. They also shared how the Lord sovereignly brought them to Thailand, the challenges that they faced and how they experience the supply and the protection in the Body. The group meeting was a supply to us all as we pray together, mutually interceding for one another. Truly, in these gatherings, we experienced the supply and protection of the Body.
We were also deeply impressed and encouraged by the saints unreserved love for the Lord. In the church in Bangkok, many of the saints who graduated from FTTB were led by the Lord to live and serve in Thailand. To our surprise, many of these serving saints, young families, and couples, originated from outside Thailand. They answered the Lord’s calling, received the burden to stand firm in the churches, and became the living testimonies of the Lord in Thailand. Many of them opened their homes, raise up their families and served the Lord faithfully at various respective district.
One of the young serving brother, who serves in the campus work in Mahidol University shared his testimony. He was once a student in Mahidol University, where he was once contacted by the trainees and saved during his first year. Later he joined the training and heard a fellowship regarding “Living to Him.” From that moment, he consecrated himself to the Lord and received the burden to return to his former university to serve and gain vessels for the Lord.
We really thank the Lord for opening our eyes through such a blending trip, and it is His desire to usher us deeper into the reality of the Body of Christ. We see that the goal of God’s economy is the Body of Christ. Last but not least, the gospel preaching, group meetings, shepherding the saints, and the perfecting of the saints, are all taking place in the church life is for the building up of the Body of Christ. Brother Lee said, “The procedure in the church work is to beget, to nourish, and then to teach and perfect so that the saints may be mature to be built in the local churches for the building up of the Body of Christ.” (The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1994-1997, vol. 1, “The Practical Points concerning Blending,” ch. 4)
