Young People Love Feast (Jan 13, 2024)

Some campus saints asked, "Are we having this kind of gathering every week?" Such a wonderful question speaks of the students’ desire to come together to enjoy the Lord and to be with one another.

The meeting that night began with the four newly baptized saints testifying of how they once thirsted for many things apart from Christ. But as they came to meet with us and know the Lord more and more, they drank of Christ as the living water. We were all so happy for them. Just by listening to them, we also drunk of the fountain of water that sprang out from within them (John 4:14)!

In verse 13, the Samaritan woman was drinking of “this water” and thus she was still thirsty. This was our experience before we believe in the Lord. Drinking of worldly entertainment and pleasures caused us to thirst for more. But once we drank of the water that the Lord gave us, we no longer thirst for the worldly water anymore. Moreover, that water that the Lord gave us to drink became a fountain of water in us, springing up into eternal life (v. 14).

But why In our experience as Christians, we are still thirsting for many things other than Christ sometimes. Why is it so? It is because we still go back to drink of the worldly water! What a warning and enlightenment this is! We all have our thirst quenched when we drank of the living water. Let us all go on to drink of the living water until we become the New Jerusalem!
