Youth Perfecting (Jan 1–9, 2026)
Revelation 4:11 says, “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power, for You have created all things, and because of Your will they were, and were created.” This nine-day perfecting is for God’s will. Why do we believe in the Lord? Why do we read the Bible? Why do we love the Lord? Why do we study hard? Why do we participating in this perfecting? It is all for the will of God.
We are burdened to bring the youths to know God, to know what God wants, and to know what the Lord’s recovery is. Although many of our youths grew up in the recovery and followed their parents faithfully to church meetings, we want them to be clear about what we are doing here and what the Lord has commissioned us. We recounted to them the history of the Lord’s recovery, mainly regarding Watchman Nee and Witness Lee, how these brothers are were used by the Lord to carry out His work of recovery.
We saw, from Brother Lee’s salvation and his pursuing of the truth, how the Lord prepared him for the work of the ministry. Once Brother Lee was saved, he consecrated himself to preach the gospel in the villages, even if he has to eat the roots of the tree and drink the water from the river. He truly loved the Lord and loved the Bible. The Lord was sovereign that Brother Lee could come in contact with Brother Nee, working together for the Lord’s interest. After Brother Nee was imprisoned, Brother Lee went on to bring the recovery to all the continents. The truth and the church life that the Lord recovered through Brother Lee was immense and we desire that all our young people will learn to appreciate and know what we have in the recovery.
Besides that, we also used two sessions to present to our youths concerning the Bible and the translation of the Bible. The brothers presented to us how the saints throughout the ages paid the price to write down the word of God that today we can have the written word of God. We want the youths to know the importance of literature work. Without the literature work, all of God’s speaking will be lost.
However, merely having the word of God in Hebrew and Greek is not sufficient; we need the word of God to be translated to the language that we understand. From history, we saw how the Bible translators such as William Tyndale was martyred for translating the Bible into English. Robert Morrison, together with William Milne, paid such a high price to learn the Chinese language and to translate the Bible into Chinese.
During the session, different Bible versions were shown to us, such as the King James Version, the Revised Version, the American Standard Version, the New Translation, and the Recovery Version. Verses were compared to impressed the youths on the preciousness of the Recovery Version. This is our heritage in the Lord’s recovery.
But to study and understand the word of God, we need a trained mind. Education is a training of our mind and education is also a preparation of our vessels to be useful to the Lord. We want them to be serious in their studies, yet at the same time, they have to know that their education is for the Lord. The time of the youth is the time of learning. At their age, it is still not the time of service, but the time of learning and a time to be prepared as useful vessels for the master’s use.
We had education sessions where we help the youths practically in their studies, to help them in their languages, history, science, and mathematics. We want to stir up the interest of the youths in their studies and in the learning of languages for the Lord and His gospel. It is our burden to foster a group of young people who are serious with their studies.
Apart from their education, we also want the youths to appreciate and pursue the truths in the recovery. We brought them to visit the Gospel Book Centre to show them the riches we have in the ministry. Our young people were very open and simple. Whatever book we recommend to them, they just take it and buy it; it was refreshing to see our young people’s appetite for the ministry. The books they bought were not kept in their bags but were read immediately and also during their free time. Let us all pray for this generation, that the Lord may gain them fully for the Lord’s recovery.
