Graduating Students Fellowship (Mar 23, 2024)

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. (Matt. 6:33)

No matter how old we are and what stage of life we are in, it seems that no one in this world can be completely freed from anxieties. This becomes more evident as we grow up into adulthood. Now as we are reaching the end of our campus years when everyone starts to plan for their future, we are being reminded by the Lord again to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to us (Matt. 6:33).

From the day that we were saved, we were regenerated and have received another life apart from our human life, that is the divine life. We were transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of the Son of His love (Col. 1:13). Now we are the heavenly people, the kingdom people (Phil. 3:20). As the kingdom people, we should seek first His kingdom and His righteousness. This is what makes us different from the people in the world.

“They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world” (John 17:16). Although we live in the world and have our human responsibility which we need to bear, the Bible tells us clearly that we are not of the world. On the contrary, we live in the world, but we are for the Lord! We saw this in the picture of the children of Israel plundering the gold from Egypt for God’s building. However, we were also warned that if we are not careful, the gold might end up becoming the golden calf to us. The way for us to be delivered from mammon is to hand it over to God; do not let it remain hot in our hands.

Positively, we were encouraged to remain in the church life, God’s cultivated land (1 Cor. 3:9), for this is the best place for us to be perfected to do the work of the ministry, that is to build up the Body of Christ. Even while we are living in the church life, we have to seize every opportunity to be perfected. We thank the Lord for such a timely speaking. Opportunity comes and goes. Sometimes when we miss it, it will not come to us again in the future. Such a fellowship really stirred our spirit up to renew our consecration to the Lord. “Lord, preserve us in the campus years that we can join the Full-time Training in Malaysia upon our graduation. We don’t want to miss our opportunity today only to regret tomorrow over our missed opportunities.”

Have mercy on me, fill me with Thy great love
For Thee, Lord, to live at all cost;
Lest Thy servant, hoping for that blessed day,
That day, regret chances were lost.
